This is the 64 bit version suited to both Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. DaRT is short for Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset and does just as the name suggests- diagnoses and recovers selected issues pertaining to your Windows 8.1 operating system and a lot more. For example, if you cannot boot into your OS due to loss of functionality or basically anything related to a software issue, DaRT 8.1 will help you with the boot process, and assist in diagnosing and repairing issues thereafter. You can navigate around all directories and perform selected tasks as per DaRT's capabilities.
Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (MSDaRT) 8.1 helps diagnose and repair a system that has trouble starting or has other issues.
When you start the system using the Emergency Repair Disk (ERD), also referred to as Boot CD for MSDaRT, a System Recovery Options dialog box appears. A graphical environment and a command-line console are available.
The command-line console can be opened by clicking the Command Prompt option in the System Recovery Options menu. You can access any Vista file system, which includes FAT, FAT32, and NTFS.
Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset are available on the System Recovery Options menu. Clicking MSDaRT opens a detailed MSDaRT Tools menu which presents various recovery tools.
Bear in mind that this particular release is suited to the 64 bit architecture of Windows 8.1. For other Windows editions and architectures of DaRT, please see the sections of this website addressed accordingly.
